How the Five Phases Connect
A club redevelopment moves through five phases, broadly in order. Most projects start with strategic feasibility and masterplanning to test what the site can support before a design exists. Once the board has a direction, development planning and approvals turns that direction into a development application and, eventually, approval to build. With approval secured, consultant and builder procurement selects the team that will deliver the project and negotiates the contract that protects the club. During the build, construction oversight protects the club's budget, program, and quality. Finally, venue launch and completion manages the handover from construction site to opening night. Not every project needs all five — some boards join partway through, depending on where the project already stands.
